I think that the new template is too dark -- it's pretty hard to see. Anyone agree? --ELo

This is version 0.1 here. The text colors still need to change, and I'm not a huge fan of the main window background color... Assuming that the text colors will change at some point, which part do you think is too dark? I agree that the main content area color is too dark, but I like the look of the side bar (again, assuming that the text colors change.) --Wadsbone

I've just looked at the site on another browser, and it looks bloody awful. With IE 6 on Windows ME, it looks like a giant black nothing. I have no idea what kind of whack rules it's using to choose colors, but it's not honoring my style sheet. I'll see if I can fix it somehow. --Wadsbone

Same problem w/ Opera 7.23 on XP. The links in the sidebar and up top are almost illegible, and the the light blue "followed" links in the brown main box are essentially invisible. Just way too dark all around. --ELo

I can't figure it out. It looks exactly the same on WinXP/IE, WinXP/Mozilla, WinXP/Opera, OSX/IE, OSX/Mozilla, OSX/Opera, and OSX/Safari. And it looks fine on all of them. I wonder if it's an LCD/CRT difference? This is going to sound stupid, but does it look different when you turn the monitor brightness up? --Wadsbone

I gotta disagree. The old design definitely didn't look fine on WinXP/Opera, either on my machine at home or my machine at work. FWIW, both monitors are CRTs, one a ~4 y.o. Brand X and one a ~2 y.o. Dell. It did look different with the brightness up -- it looked brighter. But not any easier to read. I think things look good now, but I still have trouble seeing the path at the top of the page. Here, for example, I know it says "Main > Nounatron Design", but all I can really see w/o squinting pretty badly -- at least when the room is bright -- is "Main". That's a pretty minor gripe, though. --ELo

It's definitely a CRT issue. It looks crappy on my work CRT, too. I had no idea it made such a difference. It looks pretty sharp on a laptop screen, though. In any case, I'll try to get my hands on an old-fashioned monitor and tweak it to a better high contrast color scheme. --Wadsbone

Hey, Wads, I shoulda mentioned this sooner, but I think the new site design is looking sharp. Cheerio, or something. --ELo
