1990 Honda Civic Hatchback, Red, 1.3L 4-cyl, 4 spd manual.
Found it on craigslist. Bought in September 2002 for $600 from a guy named Howard who lived in Little Village, adjacent to Pilsen. It's an awesome little car that drives like a go-cart.
It gets 35 miles to the gallon despite 160,000 miles. Didn't have a single option. Base motor, base transmission, heater. That's about it. Howard paired a broken display Blaupunkt cassette deck with a 200 watt amplifier bridged to a 10in subwoofer that really kicks.
It's a little beater car with hardly an inch of straight metal on it. It was like 3000% over allowable hydrocarbon emissions and not worth fixing to register in Chicago so I sold it to Carroll for $400 and he registered it in Iowa. Everyone's happy except perhaps the environment.
Named after Kate's sister Martha's late goldfish.
