Remote Factotum Activation Device (RFAD) n. Any device that serves as a proxy for the primary activation interface of an electronic device, usually engineered by the consumer/operator of the device. Examples include Ade's radio-transistor lightswitch for the living-room Christmas lights, or the toggle switch for my television.
